  1. I mean no offence to your post but I do believe that dogs are what you say. Dogs save lives daily, smelling humans lost in the snow, sniffing for drugs, and much more.
Dogs do not take as long as you say to be completely potty trained. Most dogs take less than three or four months to be fully potty trained. My dogs, Miso and Sake, were potty trained by the time they were six months old. I do not believe that dogs create stress and anger. It is scientifically proven that dogs release stress just by playing with them or even petting them.

  2. Dogs need quality exercise daily, they need to be walked, playing fetch, and any other way of keeping your dogs fit and happy. Cats need that too, just in another way. They need not just to be distracted all day, but exercised like dogs so they do not get overweight and clumsy. Feathers, lasers, mice, any type of exercise to keep them moving just at least once a day.
Dogs do not create sadness unless they die. Cats do the same thing creating almost the same impression on a human being.
Dogs do need to be bathed and cleaned because they are not afraid to get their paws dirty while playing.
Dogs and cats both chew up cushions and chairs. My dogs have not chewed up a single chair or piece of wood since they were teething which was years ago. Cats chew up furniture all the time, as a toy if they are not played with enough.
Dogs may get lost more, but for a sense of adventure if they are not taken out enough. That would not be the dogs fault if they escape but the owners for not taking them on adventures around the neighborhood to see everything. It offends me that a cat would only go home for food and not for the owner.
It is natural for a dog to eat everything they see because they are opportunists and can be trained not to, unlike cats.
I have never had a cat because my dad likes to be listened to, not ignored like a cat would do. I believe that dogs are not clumsy or stupid like what you say. Dogs are quite smart, but in their own way.
Dogs love to listen to humans and be told, unlike cats who do not love to be trained. Dogs are trained to bring in the groceries or find car keys. Dogs do amazing things more related to human beings then cats.
Dogs work as a team, cats do not. My dogs Miso and Sake are master escape artists. My dogs escaped the kitchen by working together as a team, Miso, would lift up the latch and Sake would pull the door open. They would escape their crates too. The crate has a zipper on top and Miso would open his using his nose and jump free. Then, he would go over to Sake and open his.
I do not prefer a dog over a cat because I have not had a cat ever. But this is just a little more on the topic of Dog vs Cat. Dogs are not what you think. They are your pet and are the only ones who love you more than anything.
